Meeting 26th March 2019

Talk by Katherine Bradley

“Early Women Professional Gardeners”

With spring in the air, perhaps our thoughts are turning to gardening, an activity that is now big business with garden centres everywhere.

Katherine Bradley’s talk will describe the lives and work of some of the pioneering early women gardeners, including Norah Lindsay, a socialite garden designer who lived in Sutton Courtenay Manor.  Between the World Wars, Lindsay became a well-known designer and landscape gardener and had a major influence on garden design and planting in the United Kingdom and on the Continent.
