In January, the Society had heard about the lives of children at two different schools in the village - the Victorian school and Courtenay Lodge School (Report).
Liz Woolley’s talk continued the story of children’s lives at a critical time. Her talk brought back memories for several of those who attended.
About the Speaker
Liz Woolley last spoke to the Society about Child Labour in 19th Century Oxfordshire in March 2014. Liz is a popular speaker to history societies, a lecturer at the University’s Department of Continuing Education and is very involved with the work of the Oxfordshire Local History Association.
