Talk by Brigadier Robin Draper CVO OBE

"Redcoats to Riflemen: the County Regiment’s Story from 1741”

Robin Draper’s talk covered the history of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, including their exploits in the two world wars as well as the significant contribution of the 52nd (Oxfordshire) Light Infantry at the Battle of Waterloo.

The meeting was attended by 17 members and 31 visitors.  Brig Draper’s fee was donated, at his request, to two military charities.

About the Speaker

Robin Draper lives in Sutton Courtenay and served for 35 years with the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.  

He is President of the Oxford Branch of the Royal Green Jackets and has close links with the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum at Woodstock.
